The Wellington Phoenix Academy is proud to announce that its Girls’ Only Experience Camps have filled up in record time, demonstrating the incredible interest in women’s football in Wellington and across New Zealand. This surge in enthusiasm follows the successful Women’s World Cup held in New Zealand in 2023.
The two-day experience camps offer players an unparalleled opportunity to immerse themselves in the Wellington Phoenix Football Academy. Participants engage in a range of sessions and workshops delivered by the expert Academy staff; all centred around the core principles of the Phoenix fundamentals.
These camps not only provide an engaging and educational experience but also offer players a genuine insight into what it means to be a part of the Wellington Phoenix Academy. The overwhelming response to the camps highlights the growing passion and support for women’s football in the region.
“We are thrilled with the excitement and interest in our first Girls’ Only Experience Camps,” said Jess Fuller, head of pre-academy and U16 Girls head coach at Wellington Phoenix Academy. “It’s a testament to the impact of the Women’s World Cup and the bright future of women’s football in New Zealand. We look forward to nurturing and sparking the passion for football in the next generation of female players at these camps.”
