National League preview 8-10 November

A big weekend awaits the Wellington Phoenix reserves in the National League as they look to build on their wins in round 6.

The women’s reserves travel to Logan Park to take on Southern United on Saturday, 9 November at 12pm.

Southern currently sit seventh, two places ahead of the Phoenix, but are coming off a tough loss in the last round.

The Nix were bolstered last week by the return of key players from international duty, and will aim to keep their momentum rolling after a 5-0 win.

Meanwhile, the men’s reserves are at the other end of the country, facing Auckland City at Kiwitea Street at 2pm on Sunday, 10 November.

Top of the table Auckland present a stern test as they aim to win their second National League championship.

However, the Phoenix will take confidence from last round’s victory over Western Suburbs.

In the youth National League, the U-17 girls’ side also come up against Southern United at Logan Park on Saturday, 9 November at 10am.

Currently in first place with two matches to play, a win could secure the title if other results go their way.

The boy’s youth National League season has concluded after they were crowned national champions last weekend.

All senior National League games are available to watch live and free on FIFA+.
