Head of Boarding

Head of Boarding, you will oversee our boarders’ health, well-being, and residential life.

The role is a live-in position based at NZCIS Sports Hub

Job Description 

• Oversee the daily operations of boarding facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
• Develop and enforce boarding policies and procedures.
• Address any residential issues or conflicts promptly and effectively.
• Provide pastoral care and support, acting as a mentor and trusted advisor.
• Maintain regular communication with players’ families, school/educational staffing teams, and coaches, updating them on their child’s progress and well-being.
• Ensure all boarding activities comply with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety drills and maintain up-to-date safety records.
• Work closely with medical staff to manage any health-related issues.
• Administrative Duties
• Manage the assistant and support staff teams of the boarding service

What We’re Looking For:

1. Relevant qualifications and experience in a similar role, preferably within a sports academy or boarding school setting ie. Childcare and/or teaching qualification as a minimum.
2. Strong understanding of adolescent development and the unique needs of young athletes.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. First aid certification and a clean police record.
5. Have a solid understanding of child protection
6. Ability to manage stressful situations that may arise in line with player/boarder boarding living
