Wellington Phoenix academy player Marie Green was one of the big winners at Victoria University of Wellington’s Blues Awards on Wednesday night.
Green, 19, won the Sporting and Academic Excellence Award on top of a Blue Award for football.
The Sporting and Academic Excellence Award is awarded to the Blue Award recipient with the highest grade-point average.
Green is averaging an A+ through the first two years of her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, majoring in biology and chemistry.
Marie Green is a key member of the Phoenix women’s reserves side which visits Mainland Pride in the opening round of the National League Championship this Saturday (September 28).
