FOUNDATION CENTRE

Wellington Phoenix FOUNDATION CENTRE

About the programme

The Wellington Phoenix Foundation Centre is designed for young players who want to take the next step in their football journey.

The programme is open to players from all clubs and is designed to complement their current football commitments. Players can take part while continuing to play for their existing club.

Each week, players will take part in an additional training session led by Wellington Phoenix Academy staff, using the same training principles and methodology that underpin the club’s academy pathway.

Sessions will focus on developing strong technical foundations, game understanding and confidence on the ball, with drills, activities and small-sided games designed to help players apply their skills in a team environment.

Delivered at NZCIS’s world-class facilities, the Foundation Centre provides young footballers with the opportunity to experience professional-level coaching in a fun and supportive setting, helping them continue to grow their confidence and love for the game.
